When you first hear the term internet addiction, you may smile and think this new term is a joke. Okay, so maybe people do waste a lot of time on the internet. But how can that be such a bad thing?

Yet, internet addiction can be a serious problem. Like many addictions, it is a compulsive disorder. First, take the word addiction itself. Addiction means that you are dependent on something, it is taking up a lot of your time. Now think about the time one can waste on the internet. Okay, so an hour here and there isn't a bad thing. But if a person is addicted to the internet they will be online longer than just an hour and it won't just be an event that happens occasionally, being online is something they do daily for hours on end. This addiction can lead to time away from family and friends. It can even led to time that should be spent at work.

Internet addiction can be further explained into subcategories, too. One may not just be addicted to the internet. One can get addicted to certain activities that perform while on the internet such as: online auctions, online chat rooms, online surfing, online gaming, and this addiction can even led to more serious online problems such as online gambling and online cybersex.

How do you know if you have a problem? You should start by looking at your internet habits. Then ask yourself such questions as: How often are you online? Does being online ever interfere with your work or home duties and if so how often does it? How often do you check your email? Do people in your home complain about how often you are online? Do you continue to search out new online friends? When you are not online do you anticipate when you can go back online? Do you get annoyed when someone interrupts you while you are online? Do you loose sleep because you are online late at night? Do you ever hide the length of time you were online?

The answer to the above questions can indicate that you have a problem. If you think you do, what should you do? Like with any other health problem, you may want to consider counseling. If you can't afford counseling, you may want to check out some websites that offers some help.

It may seem strange that there are websites that help with online addiction. Yet, if you think about it online websites may be the best place for online addiction sufferer to seek help. A great site is netaddiction.com. At this site, they further explain what online addiction is. They also have online self tests you can take, to see if you have a problem and to see just how deep your problem is. They also offer advice for more serious online problems such as online gambling and online cybersex activities. They even have chat rooms where recovering addicts and family members of recovering addicts can come together and share.

Should one avoid the internet for fear of getting addicted, no? The internet is a wonderful tool. You can learn a lot online. Plus, it is a great place to just relax and have fun. But moderation is the key in any activity, including the internet.

Parents should also monitor their children to make sure that they are not becoming addicted to the internet. Some children, especially teenagers, have problems building friendships and relationships. You don't want your child's only friendships to be on the internet.

The internet and your online friends should not take the place of real life and real life people. If you remember that one sentence, you will continue to enjoy the internet in a healthy way.

Dual Sim Mobile Phones

In the Indian phone market the CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) technology has a fair reach but the GSM (Global System for Mobile communications) or better known as the sim card technology has a preferred appeal.

The CDMA service providers have reduced call rates for their consumers but have an inferior network reach over the GSM technology. Hence dual sim card phones are also designed to support one CDMA network and the other, a GSM network. The dual sim phones in India were first launched by Spice mobile phones. They pioneered in providing a reasonably good handset which used the dual sim technology. They garnered immense popularity for their dual sim phone launch and have been synonymous with this phone technology.

The common drawback of these dual sim phones is the battery life. The switching of the networks reduces the battery life and it is inconvenient for the user to charge the phone every few hours, if you use it extensively. These dual sim mobiles try to pack in the multimedia features but they are not up to the mark. Hence a dual sim phone serves only the purpose of a plain phone supporting 2 networks and the other features are not attractive.

Samsung Mobile also launched a couple of dual sim card phones. They have received appreciation for the ease of operations and the smooth navigation between the networks. The dual sim card mobile phones are very promising and they have a huge potential market. The dual sim card provides for the comfort of using two numbers at the same time. It gives you the ease of switching between networks at your convenience. It also provides with the comfort of attaining calls and messages from both networks simultaneously.

These dual sim mobile phones are pricey and are usually above the entry level mark. They have now started sporting different forms such as clamshell and slider designs. They are more popular in the Asian markets and are gaining relevance in the European markets. There are varieties of dual sim mobiles such as twin CDMA supporting phones, CDMA and GSM networks support phones or twin GSM network phones. You can choose the one that best suits your needs and fits your budget.

Willing to pay the price?

JULY 31 ?It never ceases to amaze me that you can get people to do anything for you, for very little I might add. I mean, look at the people protesting about the ISA. To be exact I dont mean those calling for the abolition of the ISA, rather those calling for the retention of the ISA. Then we have junior ministers saying things that people who understand?the true?nature of the ISA would support it.

Just so that people do not accuse me of being bias, let me summarise the pro-ISA camps main arguments on why we need the ISA:

1) It has kept the peace for the past 52 years. Without the ISA, the religious and racial extremists will have a field day.

Cream Whippers Are the Newest Trend Today

Cream Whippers are very simple to use and it permits you to prepare delicious whipped cream in merely a couple of seconds. They are likewise called as cream siphons or merely siphons.

Mario Kart Wii has been released recently for the Nintendo Wii, and opinion is divided on whether it's the best yet, or rather overcomplicated and frustrating. One area of the game that's completely undeniable in it's brilliance is the Broadband Offer mode, where you race up to twelve other racers online. Everybody wants to win, of course, but there are some excellent players

Don't Handicap Yourself Adsl Line You Even Start

It's best to use offline mode to get a feel for the game as a whole, plus unlock a few of the extra characters and karts. Once you feel confident broadband comparison consensus suggests beating at least the 100cc level cups before venturing online), then go online, but remember how you played offline.

The courses are all the same, so pick one you like before you start - don't go random. Of course, it may not get voted to race on it, but at least you stand at the least a 1 in 12 chance of racing on it. Pick a character and kart you are familiar with, and also a kart that plays to your style.

By 100cc class, you should also be playing in manual mode.

Take Advantage of Everything

There are plenty of places to safely get speed boosts without golden mushrooming everywhere. Corners are a great place to drift and you need to hold the drift for as long as possible (generally until you are straight on the straight you are drifting into), you should also stunt jump whenever you jump, and if you are racing on a motorbike, wheelie as often as possible. Also, make sure you hit the power ups. Online racing is more about powerups post office broadband offline internet speed accelerator as such there's very little chance of taking an unassailable lead throughout the race.

Become a Blue Shell Bomber

If you are leading, you have one thing to fear - Blue Shells. The Blue Shells will automatically hit you with an explosion causing you to lose around 5 seconds. And there's nothing much you can do to stop it. Luckily, you are given plenty of warning, so what I try and do is stop, slow down, and take out as many of your opponents as possible. Drive with the A button (if you're using most steering methods) held down when you become aware of it and aim to eliminate as many of your opponents as possible. Sure, you'll drop down a few places, but at least you won't be miles behind when you recover.

Second Is The New First

With that said, it is far easier to do the classic Mario Kart tactic of remaining in second up until the last corner then overtake. The choice of weapons you get in first is terrible, so if you are to lead from the front, pull away and fast before you get attacked by the Blue Shells.

With all that said, the most important thing is to have fun. Playing your fellow human and beating them is a wonderfully satisfactory feeling in this game, and you have a real sense of achievement. I'll see you online!

Download Free PSP Games! Learn to Download and Burn Free PSP Games

There is no doubt that the PSP from Sony is the most powerful hand held video game console in video game history. The graphics and sound quality can be compared Tmpoint previous high-speed broadband video game consoles. With such a huge fan base, people are often curious if they can download free psp games straight from the internet. Not only are people surprised that they can do this, but they are really surprised that there are a lot of places they can go. Some of the places are legitimate and dependable, while others are just horrible. Deciding on where you can download free PSP games can be a bit tricky, with all the options that are available to you.

If you are just using a search engine, like Google, to find where to download free PSP games, then you are really rolling the dice. Sure, some of the sites you find might be OK. But you are going to have to go through a lot of garbage as well. You're going to find sites that all you are downloading are viruses and spyware.

There are also sites that charge you on a monthly basis for being part of their membership. Quite frankly, that gets to be real pricey too. As with any membership, you are going to have to pay them every single month whether you used the service that month, or not.

I'd also be cautious of torrent sites. I used to be a big fan, myself. But after all the bugs and glitches I got on my computer from using them, I had to call it quits. Torrents are really a poor option, if you want to download PSP games.

I, myself, have only had good experiences on a couple of portable internet The selection of games are astounding. You could spend the whole day just browsing through all the games. You have the ability to download free psp games, no matter how old or new. They also make sure to give you the right software and detailed directions on downloading and transferring your game to your PSP. I was really lucky I was able to find them.

As a big time fan of the Sony PSP, I had been looking for something like this for quite a while. I know feel that it is my duty to let other fans of this great system in on the secret. You can check out my reviews of the sites by going here Download Free PSP Games

The Seventh Generation

Seventh Generation Video Games - What's that? Here's a brief history.

We are now all experiencing The Seventh Generation of video games. You might say that we are all Children of the Seventh Generation; everyone and all ages and yet, one wonders how many have even heard of it!

The Seventh Generation brought the arrival of new disc formats, albeit that only one format seems to have survived to this day: the Blue-ray disc as used by the PlayStation 3 and the HD DVD as used by the Xbox 360. The internet sports radio HD DVD was used through an optional accessory but this later fell by the wayside in the format war that ensued. Not Microsoft's finest moment!

One really significant feature to arrive on the scene is the use of motion as an input medium. This is of course used extensively by the Nintendo Wii and also by different means, the Playstation 3. The Wii of course also utilises Infra Red tracking; perhaps the mainstay of the Wii concept. Last but not least, all Seventh Generation systems support standard wireless controllers.

Of course, only the biggest players in manufacturing have been able to develop the Seventh Generation games systems:

XBox 360

Microsoft are behind the XBox 360 and believe it or not, this was launched as long ago asNovember 2005. Their HD DVD drive didn't really damansara malaysia off and although originally available as an accessory, the format has been dropped.

The XBox Live service can be connected to the internet either through its built-in Ethernet port or its Wi-Fi accessory. Currently available in three versions, the XBox can be bought in the entry level "Arcade" version; a Standard malaysia airlines system using a hard drive and an "Elite" version, also using HD. The biggest difference between these versions is their storage capacity.. The Arcade edition has 256MB storage, the Standard version has a 60GB hard drive capacity, whilst the Elite comes with a 120GB drive. They all come with wireless controllers and to make it clear if one has splashed out on the Elite, the console and controllers are in Black, so your friends will definitely know! The other differences relate to what games are bundled, cables etc.

The Xbox 360 is capable of outputting full 1080p through HDMI and component cables.

Sony Playstation 3

The Sony Playstation 3 was launched in Japan and the USA in November 2006. Europe had to wait for the PS3 until March 2007.

All PlayStation 3s come with a hard drive and are able to play Blue-ray disc movies and games, straight from the box. The PlayStation 3 was the first video game console to support HDMI out of the box, utilizing full 1080p. For the anoraks out there, "HDMI" stands for High-Definition Multimedia Interface and the "1080" refers to the number of lines of vertical resolution and 1080 horizontal scan lines - those who remember the old CRT televisions will remember being able to see the lines as there were far less. The bottom line with HDMI is fabulous resolution!

It is possible to connect up to seven devices to the console through internet nanny including the controllers with tilt-sensing capabilities.

There are a number of versions of Playstation 3 on the market but they appear to vary according to the region in which purchased. No doubt there is wisdom in the regionalised marketing but to go into the various specifications extend beyond the scope of this brief article. Anyway, in the writer's opinion, they are all good!

The Nintendo Wii

The Nintendo Wii was launched in the USA in November 2006 and in Japan, Australia and Europe in December 2006.

At odds with the other Seventh Generation systems, the Wii does not utilise an internal hard drive. One can argue that the lack of moving parts for a system that is expected to take a few knocks, might be regarded as an advantage as the Wii uses 512 MB of internal Flash memory and removable SD card storage. SD stands for "Secure Digital" and you have most likely used one of these in your mobile telephone or even your camera or video recorder.

Although a fan of the Wii, one has to admit that the maximum resolution output of only 480p is a slight disappointment, making it the only seventh generation console not outputting high-definition graphics. However, the fun to be had and lower price is generally regarded as more than adequate compensation.

Central to the Wii experience is the Wii's cutting edge controller, which aficionados will know as "the Wii remote" and it does indeed resemble a TV remote control unit. The players face the system sensor, which also emits infrared light. This is captured by an infrared receiver in the Wii remote and is then translated by the brilliant software to interpret orientation relative to the source. People used to think one would need to use Virtual Reality headgear to experience this sensation. It was the stuff you would see in Sci-Fi movies. The Wii has brought this into the average family's living room.

The Wii is the first Nintendo console to be back-compatible with previous Nintendo consoles and will be seen as a bonus for owners of GameCube games; in fact the Wii will support four GameCube controllers and two memory cards.

All in all.............

It is fair to say that Seventh Generation has changed the way people see Video Games. Previously the exclusive territory of children and adolescents, the Seventh Generation console systems are being purchased increasingly by mature adults.

Squidoo: Streamyx Broadband

About the premiere broadband internet service provider in Malaysia, Streamyx

Broadband has become essential for most of us. The simple click of a button has brought us many things that were just not possible before, from entertainment - music email hosting service videos - Adsl Availability shopping for almost anything. The majority of us use it daily, sometimes without even knowing why we logged on in the first place.

Fast access to the internet has also become an essential in education, from primary schools to universities, where you can retrieve lecture notes, previous exam papers even exam results, therefore reducing paper waste and speeding up the whole process of preparation.

One of the only downsides is that it has made us less active in an Streamyx Broadband environment. It is often said that since the introduction of the internet, and especially broadband, people have become lazier in work.

We no longer have to walk across an office to speak to someone, as the opportunity to send a quick email seems more appealing. This may not seem like much, but if you take into consideration the amount of emails you may send a day, it can add up.

Back to the positives: broadband truly has helped the world connect in many different ways. Social networks are popping up all the time, bringing the original pen friend to an end. It brings us more in touch with our neighbour countries, with a total of more than 1.2bn internet users by September 2007.

We can also find all the information we need with sites like Wikipedia. The site has more than 8m articles in 253 languages, highly impressive considering that it is a free service.

Since the introduction of broadband we have seen some big names emerge, most notably Facebook, MySpace and YouTube. These sites would just not be possible without broadband and have become some of the most popular sites available to users.

What would happen if it were possible to pull a plug and the internet suddenly disappeared? What would we do and how could we cope? A life without broadband or the internet seems almost ludicrous now and would cause a large portion of the world's economy to stop.

If you are interested in taking advantage of current broadband internet technology then you should compare many cheap broadband providers available in your area.
